Our Missions

Our Commitment

Dedicated to the Conservation of Columbia Gorge

At the Columbia Gorge Conservation Group, we like to call them missions—actions we take to make a difference in our community. From environmental efforts to business collaborations, we believe in creating positive change, one mission at a time.

Our missions are ongoing, and we’re always looking for new ways to contribute to our community. If you have ideas or want to collaborate, let’s make it happen together!

Missions

We

Have

Done

Earth Day  – The Dalles River Walk Cleanup  focused on clearing litter and debris along the river trail. The board led the effort and is seeking volunteers for future events.

Veterans Day Clean Up – to clear debris from the flag pole holes where the Boy Scouts place flags for holidays. Help honor our veterans by keeping these sites clean and ready for display

Back to School Cleanup – to refresh local schools after summer traffic. Help tidy up outdoor areas, pick up litter, and create a clean, welcoming space for students and staff

Missions

We

Want

to Do

Adopting a highway is a community effort to keep a section of road clean and litter-free. Volunteers commit to regularly picking up trash along a designated stretch, helping maintain a safer, more beautiful environment. It’s a simple yet impactful way to give back to the community and protect local landscapes.

Earth Day on the River: The Dalles Cleanup is back and this year we are wanting YOU! Let’s come together to clear litter, refresh the trails, and keep our beautiful riverfront clean for everyone to enjoy. Whether you have an hour or the whole day, your help matters! Bring friends, family, and community spirit as we work to protect our local environment.

Every hand helps—                  let’s make an impact        together!
